Lo de Marcos Casita

I built myself a sweet little 1-bedroom casita with outdoor kitchen and bathroom with a bathtub in the palapa attic behind my store, Cosmic Milkshake, at the very back of the large lot – hidden from the other casitas by lots of big banana trees and a guava. Here are some photos…

Chilling on the terrace. These tiles are cement mosaico tiles from Guadalajara.

Birds eye view from the attic looking down on the bathroom. I just love my pink and caramel sink!

My sink before the brass drain was put in….

The nicho in the shower for shampoo and soap

The view from the bathtub in the attic.
Looking down on the kitchen before the appliances were in.

Now there are cats!

My bedroom is coming along! The bookshelf is made of primavera wood and is very hard and termite resistant. Perfect for the humid tropics.
It was time for a Sunday Tea Party in bed 🙂 with some new finds from Oaxaca and @cosmicmilkshakeshop

This is my casita just finished before the garden was put in.

At night. In December 2924, the vegetable garden is coming along! And the ground peanut is planted and being watered every day. The goal is for it to cover all the dirt.

Ten months after the completion of the casita in August 2025 the ground peanut is covering all the dirt and the vines have taken off and a castor oil tree volunteered in a corner making some lovely shade 🙂
In May 2025 the rains were coming so I thought it would be a good idea to make a stone path to my casita so I don’t track mud everywhere….I just love this curve.
To make the casita more summer/rainy season friendly I put some windows in that easily accordion open but can be kept shut against the rain to keep the loungey area dry 🙂
Nova and I area enjoying it!
